A Forex Affiliate Example

forex affiliate 2

A Forex affiliate is someone who is an affiliate for a foreign currency trader/ buyer etc. It is a very competitive market but the commissions can be stoopidly big.

One recently came up on my radar and it was through a blog called itweb.co.za- its a tech website.

They were explaining the business of affiliate websites. The usual stuff- find audience, find affiliate program they like, promote it, get a commission.

So on this article they were trying to promote AvaPartner which is a Forex affiliate website. In other words they just promote and use Forex only programs/ companies that offer affiliate programs in the Forex world.

Now again, we are not reducing what the article is about, but trying to see if we would click on the link and help them. If we don't, why and what can be done.

The Forex Affiliate- AvaPartner pitch

This is whats written:

"This affiliate network is linked to AvaTrade, a regulated CFD and forex broker. So, what happens here is that affiliates who join AvaPartner are given various links and tracking tools. Then, for each customer an affiliate sends to AvaTrade via their tracked links, they get a percentage of the revenue that referral generates. As per the specifics of this program, partners can get up to 50% revenue share".

Now, would that make you click on the link? Now if I was curious, maybe, but not because it has been promoted for me to click on the link, but to be curious and wondering what the cvompany was.

Would I use AvaPartner based on the text?

Maybe if the sales page on the affiliate site was better...but that is a big maybe. Because I would then start to look around, check out other websites. Now if your cookie is long lasting you might get the credit, but if it is a 24 hour cookie or something similar, you might not get the sale? See how cookies can be cool and bad?

Therefore you have to do some cool pre-promotion (pre-selling) to actually allow me to miss some steps and not hunt around for more examples on AvaPartner.

What could ITWeb do?

They have gone for the "place a link in the text" ability to sell affiliate products. Sure the overall theme of the website it tech,- which at least gets some audience to look at the article. But then we have- are they a Forex audience?

So what can they do?

  • Have they used it? With the text that is used they might not have used AvaPartners. Not saying they haven't, but the text doesn't convince us that they have. How could they? They could add screen shots of the main screen, the admin section, a video on how to log in and show some of the programs. These are easy "credability" markers
  • List. This could be the best affiliate networks, the best affiliate networks per niche. The list can go into a little depth on the networks and what they offer. This would bring certain audiences to your site so that you are now sorting them into specific audiences with a higher chance of clicking on a link
  • Specific webpages. What is Forex and how are computers being used in trading? This is more aligned with your website. You can then go full into trading and how different traders use computers, what computers etc. ITWeb is being picked up by Google News so they have some website power so they would be able to compete at some level with other websites and get some Forex search love.
  • Why that affiliate program? Forex affiliate selling is competitive but not the first thing you think of when affiliate programs come up. So someone knows about Forex or have heard about it at ITWeb. So run with it. Can you do a profile of AvaPartner? How are they managing their networks with what computers etc. You state: 'This affiliate network is linked to AvaTrade, a regulated CFD and forex broker".  You can go through each- AvaTrade, CFD and Forex Brokers, on different articles linking back to AvaPartner.
  • Why that affiliate program part 2. "The marketing team at AvaTrade has essentially embraced the notion of affiliate marketing and parlayed that into an in-house program. That gives partners a unique set of benefits. As well as up to 50% revenue share, they’re afforded accurate referral tracking and guaranteed payments". This statement is so underused. It screams out: Show me!
  • Proof. Now it doesn't have to be direct proof, but there needs to be something that suggests that you have seen AvaPartner. You mention: "AvaPartner has more than 145 000 registered partners and has paid out over $300 million in commission payment". This is an amazing stat- it would be even better with a picture or a secondary source quote.

When you check out the article you can see that it is like many articles. Here is the info, off you go. With more input into the text, some pictures and maybe video it can heighten what is already there. Get more SEO love and some nice ad revenue. With additional articles that link from the main one then specific affiliate links can be promoted. If you like AvaPartners then it can be done where people start clicking on the link and offering you some affiliate commissions.

We wish ITWeb all the best
