Where Should You Sell Your Affiliate Products? What Is The Best Affiliate Channel?

best affiliate channel

There are so many options of where to sell affiliate products that sometimes the best affiliate channel can often be missed, underused or used very late. In either option, results can be varied even with the same affiliate product.

This article came from a blog post suggesting that you should dive into all affiliate channels.

This sounds like a cool idea, but it has flaws.

  • You might be bad at that channel. We have found that some channels are just not for us. Not that they would be bad, I think they would be quite good. But we are bad at the input. But...
  • the learning curve. Sometimes a learning curve is needed to get ahead in something that you would like to do. But, does that learning curve come at a price of everything else? Does spending 2 days creating/ editing a video come at the cost of blogging? I suppose it depends upon how much conversion you get. However...
  • if your audience is there. We discussed the idea of guitar lesson selling once and video and blogging came up. Naturally blogging sounds like a good idea. But would it? Would you learn from a video or a blog post? How about if you combined the two? If you are discussing flowers and their beautiful blooms and just have an article of text then that is not really going to be a converting article.  But, if you place pictures within- it gets better. If you video what you do, it gets better still. If you place pictures online through the mostly visual social sites then they will amplify that post even more.

It all sounds very natural and obvious. But it does catch a lot of people out.

First stages in choosing the best affiliate channel to sell in...

You find an audience that you know/ can talk to. So if you want to go into golf products and have no idea about handicap/ yards, birdies...then you might want to read up on it, go out practising...or leave it alone. This is the learning curve part. It is worthy to start learning?

Once you have found a topic that a good sized audience would like to know- and has information generated every year. Then you can create your online presence.

Remember information generation. If your topic only has a limited increase in knowledge you really need to figure out how to change that information. So, for instance 10 Pin Bowling. Doesnt seem also to know about- ball, pins etc. However you can dive into:

  • profiles of stars of the game
  • stats
  • merch
  • different balls
  • different techniques
  • fantasy league?

There are tons of choices for you to find a channel to sell on and in reality they are pretty much the same as the other deep down. When you start to add bits to them and pay for others they each shine more.

My thought is that you can easily grow and expand later, but why not see if it works for you for free? So go down the social side of websites and start there. If you like Facebook, Pinterest etc, start with one of those. Learn them, enjoy them and then start to build your following.

Why social first?

Well, for one, it free and the other, they have sharing built into them. Proof?

Dude Perfect are a Youtube sensation. Youtube- built in sharing is making a career out of many people who decide to commit to the platform. However according to their book, Dude Perfect started with Youtube to show their trick shots but it was through Facebook that they promoted and started their brand.

They tapped into their own social networks (5 people with probably at least 10 people on their Facebook friends at a complete and really low minimum). So now you have 50 people promoting it to their friends...and so on.

It wasn't until they started to get bigger and realised they needed to make more of a brand statement, they bought the Dude Perfect domain name and created their website which then can be distributed to the media.

To doubly increase you efforts you can place your Youtube or social platform of choice on your website.

What other people have done is to contact other low/ newly started groups/ boards etc and offer to exchange articles/ videos pictures to their audience. You then gain followers/ subscribers of people who are interested in what you do- a more targeted is always extremely welcomed. When you increase subscribers/ fans etc then you contact other larger websites/ groups and do the same.

Inter promoting is always a good idea as you can increase your fan base quicker and create a fan base that is somewhat targeted.

MrBeast?

mrbeast title

That is also how MrBeast accomplished his great success (apart from offering cool content).

He partnered with other Youtubers. Initially PewDiePie and then gathered known Youtubers together. In doing so each one promoted the video they appear in- also mentioning MrBeast in the process. With other channels released- especially the MrBeast Gaming, he again partners with known gamers in topics that are well known for their views (GTA and Minecraft).

His website? There is no mrbeast.com just shopmrbeast.com- where all the social media points to. Which is pretty cool as there are mainly "buy" links on the page.

But you will find most, if not all companies will have some sort of "their own online presence". So just in case anyone changes the rules or dissapears overnight, you still have traffic coming to your own site. That site is yours, that traffic is yours.

Next...

But ultimately choose one online presence idea- whether that be Facebook or Youtube and make sure you know it and what it can do.

Once you have started to see an increase in visitors and people are sharing your stuff then start to think about a webiste- but also what that website is going to do. Preferably for you to start to gather email addresses and to make use of social traffic and start pouring it into your site.
