How To Do Step By Step Amazon FBA Selling

step by step amazon fba

Step by step Amazon FBA selling is required. Why? Because you can get yourself landed with product that doesnt sell and listing/ storage fees that rack up over time.

In other words, regardless of what most people state, you can't just throw something up on Amazon and expect 100% profit and success.

So we turn to people who have already done it.

Welcome Michael Jackness who has been selling on Amazon since 2017 (following the tips shown below).

The tips come from the webpage A Step by Step Amazon FBA Selling Guide. So check out that for the expanded version- links and more indepth diagrams.

Step by step Amazon FBA selling tips- A-Z

  • Have an idea of what you are going to sell. This then allows you to think of business names. Generic names are better than specific names as it gives you wiggle room. To go into business, you need a business name and account- which is super helpful for taxes and dealing with companies. So in this example Michael chose to do pet products.
  • Once you have an idea then start to go wider. So what pet products would you choose? Collars, brushes? Now don't pick just yet, but start to think what products are out there. Also think of ones which are not too big (to cut down on shipping fees)- so dog beds or cat litter might sound cool but the logistics might be poor for a first product
  • Find a social media account. Now most people choose Facebook because it is easier to spread messages, interlink with other groups and use their Ads. So if you are choosing pet products then you will create a Facebook Group page on Pet Products. Some people hook up with other small groups of like minded individuals and swap content. This then grows each others subscriber list. Once your list gets bigger then you can go to other larger Facebook groups and do the same thing. Michael uses Facebook ads to get subscribers. This does cost but you are using Facebook, so keep it internal. But. You need to generate content and interaction to keep the ball going. Free group swap and content building is simpler and cheaper, but takes longer.
  • With content creation you can gauge what your audience is into and what they already buy. They will give you info if your content is nice and helpful. You can set up questionnaires or surveys. They do have a low use rate but they can be helpful. But interaction with your subscribers is the key here. You can even do a "top 5 best" products and list some of the ones from Amazon. See what people say. What was good or bad about them.
  • With the information collected you can start to look up on AliExpress what products are out there and what prices they go for.

  • If you want you can start to order a couple of items on AliExpress and then either sell them to your subscribers (at cost) or offer them as a giveaway (at a loss). Michael sends people to a webpage called Clickfunnels which tests which page sells more product. If he gets a conversion of greater than 1% then he knows the product would sell.
  • Get peoples reviews of the product and this is your start of the reviews
  • Still keep on interacting with your Facebook group, keep building audience
  • Some people also use an email list. You can if you want, but it tends not to be viral enough at the present time. If you are continually interacting with your group, that will build- it is also cheaper.
  • Michael recommends 5000 people in your group- product tested/ sold as well to start to launch on Amazon. He then orders through AlExpress to send to his home- then once you have got up and going you can use Amazon FBA. It is too costly initially and you can be lumbered with product you can't move- but you still pay Amazon for storing your product.
  • Underline this- never let the list/ subscribers go cold, keep on interacting with content
  • Now you order product and start to set up/ write a product page while you are waiting. The product page has to be good to start. So good titles, pictures, text and keywords. Michael goes airmail for one or two products to get them faster than shipping to figure out images and text. He has a whole list of items on the webspage, so check it out.
  • Know when you are going to launch and set the "start selling date" on Amazon for then
  • Michael then starts to create some Amazon Ads
  • Once everything is in order you start to drip feed information to your Facebook audience. Once per week initially discussing in general the type of products that you have. Then, state why they are cool, why they are better etc. Then do a count down email sequence so that the last email people are on edge to buy and to leave a review
  • Once launched you need to remind people to leave a review, then 2 days later then 1 week later. People won't unless asked. But never give a product for a review, reviews have to be organic.
