This passive income with ebooks is based upon a Youtuber who states not to use KDP. We wanted to know what the video was about and...is it possible?

Fabienne has 14k subscribers, this video is roughly arund 367k views, 8.3k likes.
Fabienne states that:
First off...the title. Sell book for free, make millions. OK. Possible...usually an upsell, list building or an affiliate offer in there somewhere. Thats our first guess.
And, further to this is the description:
The main piece:
"Do you want to take your book sales to the next level and multiply your passive income? Forget Amazon KDP! In this video, I'm going to show you how to create a book funnel that will 4x your earnings and give you complete control over your sales process."
The main keystone to the video is that Fabienne asks, why do Grant Cardone and Tony Robbins give away free books?
Then the suggestion is that they make millions of diollars through this free giveaway technique and it is a big secret. And they sell more ebooks this way than they do selling on Amazon.
To prove this, Fabienne went from $7 and some change to $40 selling a planner:
She goes through Russel Brunsons signup page and demonstrates how they make more money with free ebooks. And how is it done?
Well, the first peice of this puzzle is the offer shipping costs- so the book has to be hard copy. Then you upsell a couple more items as a bundle. Usually offering time limited bonus etc
So your one free ebook can now be cranked upto $100
This is not new. Offering items on "orders" is a great way to increase those orders. People are more inclined to buy because they are in a buying mood- they are "buying" the shipping
Better still, if you offer low priced offers and high priced products many people will buy the low priced and a percentage will buy the higher priced products. You could even add a $1000 retreat a a small percentage of people will buy.
Then once you get through this page you then go to another sales page offering another item. Which is nice as it catches people who might not have bought on the first go.
Russel does this 3 times- first go, second and then the last "upsell". Sometimes it can be annoying so you really have to test if people buy- and then buy at a future date.
And when you come away from the page, like exit out?
We have a lovely popup. Yep they havent gone in the 2000s, they just have been reinvented. Guess what? People will buy especially if you offer one or another of something. Physical book or ebook- 2 options. You see, the picth has been for physical books but how about the audience that likes digital?
You get them here. Then what do you think you are going to offer the digital customer in the future? Yep, the physical copy. Or you offer more digital products because that audience likes digital products!
Is this passive income with ebooks?
Well, if you are selling physical book then no, you have to set up the process of automation. Russel is not packing those books, a fulfillment centre is. You have to make sure that the fulfillment centre is OK, so those systems have to be in place. But, a physical book will get a higher price because of the perception of higher price.
But.
This is not where Grant or Tony make their money.
Lets look at the screen gran from Fabiennes video and we can see where (arrows painted by us).
The bump or upsells reduces the cost of marketing and effort that goes into selling those books. It is nice gravy in free sales.
But, the main source of their incomes comes from telling listeners and subscribers about their products. The free ebook is a lead magnet.
Once someone comes on to your page they can do something or go.
If they go, you try and pop-up them
If they stay then you have to make it your job to get them to sign up or raise their hand to something that they like. Once they do this you can then sell them appropriate products based upon their selling habits.
If you bought all the upsells from Russel then we are close to being certain that you will not get those offers again. You will be whisked off to a system that is based on your purchase with the intent to buy another product.
This is why customer service and ebook content is so important.
If your cusrtomer service is poor then you will not get more sales. If your rpdocust are bad then you will not get additional sales.
One product leads to the next.
But keeping that visitor is hyper important.
