It might be a really good idea to create make Youtube music.
And there are a few very good reasons to do so:
1. Total Creative Control
If you want quick music, or a remix of a tune, you can easly jump inand create it yourself. When you make your own music, you’re in the driver’s seat. Whether you’re creating an intro for a vlog, background music for tutorials, or a fully-produced music video, homemade tracks allow for perfect alignment with your visual content. There's no need to compromise with pre-made tracks that don’t quite fit.
2. Avoid Copyright Issues
YouTube’s Content ID system is notoriously strict. Even royalty-free music can trigger copyright claims if improperly used or if someone else already registered the track. When you create your own music, you eliminate the risk of takedowns, demonetization, or muted videos. You own 100% of the rights, which means full control over how the music is used, shared, and monetized — a huge advantage for channels that rely on ad revenue or memberships.
3. Build a Unique Brand Sound
Every successful YouTuber has a distinct identity. Custom music helps shape that identity through sound. Think of iconic intros, signature sound effects, or background music that fans instantly recognize. By producing your own tracks, you’re crafting a sonic fingerprint that enhances brand recall and creates a deeper connection with your audience.
4. Opportunities Beyond Your Channel
Creating original music can also open up side opportunities. Many YouTubers who produce their own music eventually license it to others, upload it to Spotify or Bandcamp, or sell sample packs and loops.

There is a point where you can throw into a music program all these loops and not touch a note of music. Just line a drum loop up and then pair it with the same speed bass line.
Softsynths- or VSTs (Virtual Synths/ Virtual Music Equipment). Now these are the software versions of hard synths. And they sound really good. And as an added bonus, many sites offer free versions which talented coders have created, trial versions or very very cheap versions of the commercial relatives.
These are some of the very quick music pieces we created. We use them as intros, outros or even fillers inbetween segments. Each one is done with one softsynth.
For a special gift of reading to here you can download the MP3 for free and use any of the tracks for free, no small print. If you do, it would be nice for a mention:) The download info is in the description- no signups or anything.

There's about 3 more in the "Shorts" section
All the "Shorts" were created in an afternoon. Once you get going, it is actually difficult to stop because sounds generate idea which lead into projects.
