This is all about sales process reviews and how to use successful companies who are already selling tons of ebooks and other products and figuring out how they did it. And also how we can sell even more.

When we sell online, and yes it happens to us all, we follow what everyone is doing. If it looks good and it generates sales then it has to work for us right? In other ways, many people just don't "do" sales. And being online, especially as a solo entity can feel overwhelming. 

In these situations the following happens:

  • If you copy another website, that is great. But. You have to figure out if that audience is your audience or is that audience the websites audience. Audience and what they do is key to a website. Many websites spend a huge amount of time figuring out who their audience is and what they enjoy. The techniques used on a website might work with that specific audience.
  • By applying a scattershot approach to selling anything will give scattershot results. Jasonera Law suggests that random acts creates random results. Go with what you like and stick with it.

In some cases, the content creator just got the sun, moon and stars aligned and it just worked. We will also cover them as well as they are fascinating to see how they manoeuvred through the online success maze.

Online selling?

Selling is the art form (it can be learned) of persuading people to be interested in your item so that they can do something you would like.

So this can easily be:

  • signing up for a newsletter
  • downloading an ebook
  • buying your product
  • buying a subscription
  • reading an article and possible clicking on the ads that surround it
  • buying a product that you recommend
  • buying into what you say

Online selling is simpler because it is immediate and there is such a low barrier to entry that anyone can set up a website/ free social page and then sell something. Online selling is also a problem because of those issues, so you have multiple people chasing after a limited amount of prospects.

For us, we are buyers when we look at a website. We might not be "buying their product" but we have to ask ourselves...are we "buying what they say". Is the website functioning as it should. If we were buying, would we?

Now we pick different companies and individuals online and figure out what makes their sales process good (and maybe what can be improved). In many cases they can be and even better? It can be free to very cheap.
